Build Authority and Trust With Your Patients with Healthcare Social Media

What Is Healthcare Social Media Management?

Healthcare social media management is how you build trust, authority, and patient relationships online.

Here’s what you need to know:

What Is Healthcare Social Media Management

Healthcare social media management is the ongoing work of running your practice’s presence on platforms like Instagram and Facebook planning and posting content, responding to comments and messages, managing reviews, and building the kind of trust that turns a follower into a patient.

Unlike paid ads, this is about the relationship you build over time, not a single campaign.

Organic social is what you post and who engages with it naturally. There is no ad spend and is built over time through consistency and content people actually want to see.

Paid social puts your content in front of new people who don’t follow you yet, targeted by location and interests.

The two work best together: organic builds trust and credibility, while paid social introduces your practice to people who haven’t found you yet.

Social media isn’t primarily a lead-gen channel the way paid ads are.

What it does is how patients validate a decision they’re already leaning toward. Someone finds you through a Google search or a friend’s referral, then checks your Instagram before booking.

What you should expect is a stronger first impression, more patients arriving already trusting you, and a practice that looks active and credible to anyone checking you out.

Running social media for a healthcare practice carries responsibilities a real estate agency or restaurant never has to think about.

Comments and DMs can contain personal health details a patient shouldn’t post publicly, and how you respond matters. Simply put, you can’t casually reply the way another business might reply to a product question. Patient testimonials and before-and-after content require documented consent and careful framing to stay within platform and privacy guidelines. A social media manager used to handling a real estate page or a restaurant’s Instagram will miss these lines. In healthcare, it requires a team that knows where they are.

Our Formula to Create Social Media Content That Helps You Grow

A 3-month sprint: one month of high-frequency posting (4-5x a week) to find what works, followed by two months of content built around what the data shows is resonating.

Sprint Content Marketing

PHASE 01 • Month 1 – 1.5

Sprint Content Marketing

Goal: Find your outliers — the content your audience actually responds to.

This will include:

  • Deep-dive research into your brand voice, visual identity, and positioning
  • Competitor analysis. What’s working for other practices in your space
  • Audience research. what your ideal patients are actually searching for and engaging with
  • B-roll and content asset creation
  • Create content for High-frequency posting — 4-5+ times per week to gather enough data fast

Note: No content is published during this phase. This month is dedicated to research, filming, and creating the asset library your content will be built from.

PHASE 02 • Month 2+

Sprint Content Testing

Goal: High-frequency posting to identify outliers, then gather the data

This will include:

  • Create content to Publish 4-5+ times per week using the asset library built in Phase 01
  • Test different formats, hooks, and topics to see what your audience responds to
  • Track engagement, reach, and saves across every post
  • Identify which content is outperforming — your outliers
  • Use that data to inform what comes next

Note: This phase requires close collaboration with your team — providing B-roll, assets, and reviewing content before anything goes live, so everything we post reflects your practice accurately.

Sprint Content Testing
Scale & Amplify

PHASE 03 • Month 3+

Scale & Amplify

Goal: Double down and scale what’s working

This will include:

  • Create more content similar to your identified winners, based on what the data shows is resonating
  • Continue testing new formats and topics alongside the proven ones, so we keep finding fresh outliers
  • Option to put ad dollars behind top-performing organic posts, boosting visibility within a 5km radius of your practice
  • Add a “Book Now” or “Call Now” action to boosted posts, turning organic wins into direct bookings

Note: After the high-frequency posting phase, every month of content going forward is built using the data we’ve gathered

The Numbers Don’t Lie

75% of patients say social media content from healthcare providers influenced their choice of treatment or provider.

Patients aren’t just scrolling, they’re deciding. They’re looking at how you explain procedures, how your patients describe their experience, and how your practice shows up online before they ever call.

Social media is where that decision gets made.

We make sure what they find builds trust.

Our Social Media Management for Healthcare Process

Here’s exactly how we build, test, and scale your social media presence for healthcare practices — step by step:

Our Google Ads for Healthcare Process

STEP 01 • 01 · Day 1-2

We start with a full audit of your current social media presence what platforms you’re on, content performance, follower engagement, competitor positioning, and brand consistency. This gives us a clear picture of what’s working, what’s not, and where the real opportunity is.

STEP 02 • Week 1-3

We dig into your brand voice, target patients, and what your audience is actually searching for and engaging with, alongside deeper competitor research to see what’s resonating in your market.

This is where we build the strategic foundation everything else is built on.

STEP 03 • Week 3-4

Based on the research, we create your content like carousels, graphics, and video assets and coordinate filming with your team to build out the b-roll and footage needed for your first wave of posts.

STEP 04 • Week 4-6

With everything created and approved, we begin publishing 4-5+ times per week kicking off the high-frequency testing phase where we start identifying what your audience responds to.

Frequently Asked Questions

That’s exactly what we’re built to handle. We create a detailed filming brief outlining exactly what clips and b-roll we need.

If your team is comfortable filming themselves, a phone camera and a few minutes between patients is often enough.

If you’d rather not handle filming in-house, you can also opt to hire a videographer, either a professional videographer for higher-production content, or a more budget-friendly option like a local freelancer or student videographer, depending on what fits your budget.

Yes. Every piece of content goes through your review before it’s posted.

Nothing goes live without your sign-off.

This is especially important during Phase 02, when we’re relying on your team to confirm assets and details are accurate before anything is published.

We do the groundwork. For educational content, we provide the source material along with a summarized context, so you understand exactly what you’re speaking to and why it’s accurate.

We don’t write it word for word, though. The content should come from you, your insights, and your expertise. Our role is to give you talking point prompts that help you get into the filming flow, so you sound like yourself on camera, not like you’re reading a script.

Both work, but content featuring your providers tends to build trust faster, since patients respond to seeing the people who’ll actually treat them.

That said, not everything requires filming.

If the content is a carousel or graphic post, no filming is needed at all. We’ll just need a few images from you, which we’ll outline in the content brief.

We can also supplement with b-roll, stock graphics, and text-based posts, but we’ll usually recommend at least some on-camera presence from your team for the content that calls for it.

Filming typically happens 2 to 3 times a month, about an hour each session, batched so you’re not doing this daily.

We usually schedule filming in Week 01 and Week 02, with content creation happening in Week 03 and Week 04. Some months may need extra filming time depending on what content is planned. Everything else, editing, writing, scheduling, posting, and responding to comments, is on us.

Just tell us. Since everything goes through your approval first, you can request changes or reject something entirely before it ever goes live.

This is your practice’s voice, and we want you comfortable with everything published under your name.

No. A phone with a good quality camera (iPhone or Android), a tripod, and good lighting are all you really need.

The one investment worth making is a good noise-cancelling microphone, since audio quality matters as much as visual quality in video production. Beyond that, there’s no need to invest in expensive filming gear.

You do. Every piece of content we create for your practice belongs to you, and you’re free to reuse it anywhere, even if you ever decide to work with someone else down the line. With your consent, and unless an NDA is in place, we may also use the content on our own social media or feature it in the work section of our website to showcase our work together.
